Empowered’s QA Tester is responsible for creating test plans, scenarios and test data for use during testing. Within this position the QA Tester will also be responsible for executing those test plans and performing end to end testing of our SAAS Platform as well as reporting any defects.
Primary responsibilities
- Performed manual Front-end testing of website applications
- Created QA reports and file defect tickets based on the outcome of QA test cycles.
- Provide estimates of QA testing times based on test plans and volume of data
- Created scenarios and test data for use during testing
- Provided feedback to developers and Scrum Masters based on test outcomes.
- Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
- Evaluate product code according to specifications
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Help troubleshoot & replicate issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Collaborate with Scrum Masters and BAs to understand feature and story conditions of acceptance and gain sign-off of written test cases
- Coordinate with off-shore QA team members to hand-off work as needed, may require off-hours calls
- Clearly document system defects with repeatable steps to reproduce
- Report on progress in daily scrum stand-ups, raising issues, risks and blocks quickly
- Create, estimate and update QA tasks during the sprint
- Plan and review strategies to test features and stories with team
- Ability to provide root cause analysis
- Performs other related duties as required
Skills/Knowledge
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Time management skills
- detail-oriented, self-motivated individuals who can work closely with teams of designers, engineers, and other related personnel while also being able to work independently as needed.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is required
- Familiarity or working knowledge of Jira and Zephyr

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or have equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in a manual testing environment.
