Job Summary
Performs prescriptive analysis using advanced mathematical techniques to computationally determine a set of beneficial alternative actions or decisions given a complex set of objectives, requirements, and limitations, with the goal of improving business performance; in addition, performs predictive, diagnostic and descriptive analysis, while employing CRISP-DM (Cross Industry Standards for Data Mining)
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Performs organizational research by gathering, interpreting and comparing operational data to benchmarking/best practice data, identifies significant business issues, trends and opportunities and provides insights/recommendations to the organization
Develops reporting and analysis frameworks for strategic initiatives
Develops and maintains databases, to include documenting standards for use, control, updating and maintenance of databases within internal business areas
Leads special projects requiring commensurate analytical expertise and the development of executive level presentations; to include identifying, defining, and implementing best-in-class analytical practices
Ensures appropriate measures and reports are defined and implemented to assess organizational performance and/or initiative performance
Leads and assists with the development and training of analysts in Business Analytics and other internal business areas
Assists with strategic efforts/business planning by gathering metrics, performing analysis, and creating deliverable tracking
Serves as a resource for less-experienced team members using broad knowledge, experience and analytical tools to assist in the attainment of department/organizational goals
Performs other related duties as required
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree, 2 - 4 years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience performing complex predictive and prescriptive business-related analyses
Demonstrated ability to lead and transition projects by mentoring/developing others

• Advanced analytical skills with the ability to mentor and train other analysts and business partners on analytical methods, tools, reports, and data
• Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with all levels of management; ability to maintain professionalism
• Advanced knowledge of the operations of the business and the insurance industry
• Ability to collaborate with business unit customers, IT, business partners, and all levels of leadership to deliver results
