Job Summary
Prepares the necessary monthly accounting entries to the general ledger for GAAP and statutory to ensure accuracy of income and balance sheet related to investments. Prepares and compiles quarterly and yearly statutory accounting schedules, exhibits and surveys for Investment Accounting. Coordinates activities with the Investments Division for resolving discrepancies or issues regarding trades and settlements and performs the necessary accounting for investment trade transactions on a daily basis.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Acts as a liaison to coordinate activities with the Investments Division for resolving discrepancies or issues regarding trades and settlements as it relates to FAM; enhances operating procedures and policies, and performs data entry of investment transactions in CAMRA; performs the necessary accounting for investment trade transactions on a daily basis
• Prepares, compiles and submits information to the Securities Valuation Office for the entire company portfolio to ensure regulatory compliance
• Prepares and compiles quarterly and yearly statutory accounting schedules, exhibits and surveys (S & P, A & M Best, and Fitch)
• Performs routine investment research and analysis and works with Global Investments to assemble investment statistical and reporting data
• Acts as the department’s customer contact as it relates to FAM
• Prepares, maintains, and reconciles cash flow projections as it relates to FAM and the custodian bank (Bank of New York) to include identifying and resolving any discrepancies
• Provides administrative and research staff support to the senior investment team members

Professional - Education & Experience Qualification Level Education Degree Specification Minimum Required Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance or a related field
Qualification Level Experience Minimum Required two years of corporate-level accounting experience Preferred Experience in statutory accounting, investment accounting, treasury accounting, or other comparable demonstrated ability and knowledge of investment activities Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Knowledge & Skills
• Basic knowledge of statistical concepts, and their application to securities accounting, securities market operations and securities markets
• Knowledge of various financial data systems, investment banking and fiscal and monetary policies
• Good mathematical skills and the ability to interpret and apply numerical data, statistical spreadsheets and databases
• Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office suite software, including a basic level of experience using Access and intermediate level of experience using Word and Excel
• Proficiency and experience using SAP and Crystal Reports, or similar software
• General understanding of investment products preferred Organizational
