Job Summary

 

The Regional Vice President, Aflac Broker Channel West (or other region) is a sales leader responsible for developing and driving the sales strategies within the broker sales channel. This includes developing business plans consistent with the Company's objectives for that market segment, intended to drive sales, acquire and retain clients. He/she provides leadership to assigned Group/Sales Managers and their teams and drives for continuous improvement.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Designs and establishes sales goals for assigned territory, identifies opportunities for growth, submits a corrective action plan to address all opportunities for growth, and implements aggressive sales growth plans

 

  • Plans, develops, implements and directs major broker sales operations for the assigned territory, ensuring maximum sales volume and margin; provides leadership and management of the Broker Sales territory assigned

 

  • Directs the identification and execution of opportunities to acquire new employer groups to sell Aflac product offerings and services as well as re-enrolling and adding additional products to existing clients by interacting with insurance brokers, third party administrators, and consultants within his/her assigned territory

 

  • Guarantees that Aflac products are aggressively and competitively positioned through the broker sales distribution channel; assists with the development of strategies and plans to grow the business; develops selling models to optimize sales results

 

  • Directs the establishment of relationships with key sources who will market the Aflac portfolio of products to the nation’s leading employers; manages overall relationship with key brokers while directing internal account support

 

  • Assesses short-term and long-term market potential by understanding Aflac’s current market position within each broker’s book of business

 

  • Develops and maintains a holistic view of Aflac offerings and competitor and market conditions within the assigned area and identifies account segment opportunities

 

  • Develops long-range visionary strategic plans and annual budget for areas within the scope of responsibility and ensures that operations are managed within authorized budgets; advises, develops, reviews, and approves budgets, plans, and business goals

 

  • Develops an effective succession plan that identifies and fosters the next generation of sales leadership

 

  • Performs other duties as required

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field
  • Ten years of successful work-related experience
  • A minimum of five years regional insurance or sales experience (national sales experience preferred)
  • Group Workplace Voluntary Benefits (WVB) experience (preferred)

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
