Job Summary

Responsible for designing, developing, & maintaining complex Java based applications that support the business needs of Aflac Dental and Vision


Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Analyzes and interprets business/user requirements; designs and develops programing to fulfill the request and requirements of the business/user through Java; tests, troubleshoots, makes updates and supports the business applications in alignment with overall goals and objectives of Aflac Dental and Vision 
  • Participates and drive development life cycle to include creating the concepts, design, and quality testing; utilizes best practice techniques as well as providing solutions to complex development tasks; monitors efficiency and address production and non production issues 
  • Coordinates with other developers to integrate Java into system/web applications to support Aflac Dental and Vision; serve as a leader on projects, architectural development, and testing 
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and guidance to lower level developers; handles more complex issues and assists with lower to midlevel issues; reviews work of others as necessary 
  • Perform other duties as required


Education & Experience Required

  • Minimum Required Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Systems or programming 
  • Minimum Required Five or more years of Core Java, J2EE, any RDBMS (Oracle / Sybase / DB2), application support, maintenance, and analysis
  • Minimum Required Five or more years of Project Life Cycle experience
  • Experience with React


Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
