Worker Designation – This role is designated as a remote role. You will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. Although this role is designated as remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Understanding of business operations, requirements processes, business modeling concepts, and software development methodologies
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis data and trend analysis using internal and external information to demonstrate relevant changes or improvement
  • Good presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact and negotiate with internal and external customers, including good listening skills

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Two years of professional job-related experience in an analyst role performing business analysis, developing business requirements, using analysis techniques

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maps current business processes to provide a foundation for defining business activities; uses business process maps to develop procedures, models, and operational processes; develops accurate project deliverables such as Work Breakdown Structure, cost/benefit requirements, interface specifications, business architectural models, and use case scenario specifications; develops, writes, and communicates accurate project charters, business requirements, issues and concerns, risks, and other project information as needed; ensures that appropriate analysis is applied to business unit issues in an effort to provide the best resolution and satisfy internal and external customers
  • Creates management reports, gathering data from various systems and developing/establishing reports into customer friendly formats for use by management in the accomplishment of their mission
  • Monitors IR issues for trending analysis and possible recommendations for process improvement efforts for business units; performs root cause analysis to determine if IR is a system issue or a training issue; may contact agent or business unit to provide assistance and training; coordinates communication for Network Operation Center(NOC) alerts for entire company or impacted business units; prepares downtime impact analysis
  • Supports project leader in the successful implementation and delivery of systems projects
  • Assists with and develops documentation of communication plans, risk mitigation plans, quality plans, cost/benefit requirements and interface specifications, issues/concerns log, and use-case scenario specifications
  • Acts as a leader/coordinator on projects of moderate complexity, working with a group producing/originating solutions to improve service; promotes initiatives that normally impact the division, department, and/or business unit
  • Maintains and keeps all records related to projects, such as scope change control documentation, cost-change control documentation, and revised requirement documents; works with project manager to notify and involve mandatory department personnel in all projects, such as Internal Audit, Financial Control, Privacy, and IT Security Departments
  • Participates in Business Process Modeling sessions, acting as a documenter, co-facilitator, facilitator, or subject matter expert; conducts interviews and performs analyses for initiatives, inquiries, and/or projects; conducts preliminary investigations for initiatives, inquiries, and/or project requests; reviews requirements, specifications, tests, and supports any training plans to ensure that they are in line with business objectives on projects; facilitates group discussions or decisions that enable the group to reach a decision or achieve a result
  • Ensures that all changes in processes/procedures, to include new system implementation and/or upgrades are documented and communicated to the business unit and other affected departments before project implementation, including coordinating with Document Control on training material and performing train the trainer sessions, as necessary
  • Schedules and coordinates business unit validations, as directed by the management staff, ensuring adequate business coverage is maintained; may participate in validation  
  • Receives assignments from supervisor; provides weekly status updates on assignments on BTS site; creates reports for business unit leadership showing status, prioritization and progress of efforts; seeks guidance from supervisor or project leader for clarification or direction
  • Provides guidance for new and less experienced business analysts, assisting analysts with flow charts, writing requirements and procedures
  • Some travel required
  • Performs other related duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $48,000 - $110,000.
