Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.
- If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or New York City, NY, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.
- If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or New York City, NY, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management, root cause analysis, and change management
- Proficient in process improvement techniques; diagnostic and creative problem-solving skills; and excellent, analytical, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of project development life cycle, business capabilities framework, and business process re-engineering
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and the ability to collaborate with business unit customers, IT, and management to reach a common agreement
- Strong consultative skill set including problem identification, solution development, and gaining buy in of customers
- Excellent presentation, oral, and written communications skills
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Six years+ of professional job related work experience in business analysis, process improvement, developing business and/or technical documentation for end-users, business process modeling/mapping, methodologies development and in leading projects with proven success
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- Certification in at least one of the following: Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Six Sigma or other comparable project management/quality certification
Travel

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists business units with resolving process inefficiencies via process improvement events, including identifying the business problem statement, the root cause(s), metrics related to size of impact, potential effects on the customer experience, success measures, and appropriate process improvements and/or system changes required to resolve the business problem statement
- Acts as subject matter expert investigating the needs of the business units with focus on the analysis and modeling of processes, technology and rules; makes recommendations to integrate new and existing processes, technology and rules; participates in process, technology and rules reviews and updates to ensure that processes and systems meet changing business unit conditions; collects, analyzes and documents enterprise and business-unit specific rules
- Develops project charter/detailed project plans/schedules; facilitates development of current and future state process maps that support the process improvement effort; Conducts initiative kickoff meetings, communicates individual roles and expectations, and ensures that all team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively
- Provides work direction and general business project management to assigned initiatives, including scheduling, work assignments, and reviewing efforts to ensure the initiative meets specifications as outlined in the proposed resolution and success measures; identifies and requests needed business resources from various teams to support the business initiative
- Assesses progress and variances from the project plan, gathers metrics to support variance findings, and develops and implements changes, as necessary, to ensure that the initiative/project remains within specified scope, time, cost and quality objectives, and further defines project requirements and schedules, as needed
- Provides the business and technical project teams with constructive feedback pertaining to project performance; develops and maintains a productive working relationship with business sponsors, IT representatives, vendors, and key clients, including providing regular project updates
- Conducts formal reviews with business sponsors at initiative/project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction
- Assists in continual development and improvement of the business process improvement methodologies
- Assists less experienced consultants with assigned initiatives and projects
- Some travel required
- Performs other related duties as required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $80,000 to $100,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
