Job Duties \ Senior Systems Engineer

The Senior Systems Engineer assumes primary ownership of installing and maintaining servers and databases on a Linux platform, evaluating and recommending new technologies, developing deployment and maintenance scripts, assuming code change management duties, practicing proactive risk assessment and developing risk mitigation strategies. He/She must be able to mentor and coordinate with a team, show personal initiative and have excellent communication and time management skills.
Primary responsibilities
- Knowledge of Ansible configuration and management
- Deploy and maintain RHEV hosts
- Engage in proactive risk assessment and development of risk mitigation strategies
- Assume change duties within containers environment
- Maintain and keep IDM up to date
- Help build/implement CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab and Jenkins
- Work with outside vendors to introduce new technologies/solutions based on need
- Mentor other systems engineers
- Show personal initiative and assume primary ownership for these duties

- Advanced knowledge in RHEL and containers
- Ability to work in virtualization environments

Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, or have equivalent work experience
- 6+ years experience as a systems engineer in a Linux environment (RHEL, Centos, Ubuntu)
- 2+ years experience with proxy/web server administration
- 2+ years administration experience with Virtual Machines
- Experience with RHEV virtualization management, LDAP, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, ElasticSearch, Nginx, Satellite, Gluster, Selinux, Amazon Web Services and/or Container-based virtualization a plus
