Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbia, SC for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

Education & Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 4 years of related work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Life and Health Insurance Specialist and/or Client Service Specialist Certification

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing workflow models and business process/activity diagrams for use in modeling existing and future-state processes and system functionality; partners with the functional areas concerning the best practices for documenting and communicating process and procedural changes; partners with the functional areas to obtain feedback concerning documentation and provides recommendations for improvement in documentation and in increased manual usage

 

  • Services payments associated with Billing & Account Solutions, to also include payroll accounts, DRMS, ported accounts; analyzes account information; identifies discrepancies or account variances and takes the necessary steps to resolve or refer issues to the appropriate team member or department for resolution; maintains account information databases; ensures that account activity, such as information changes, premiums, approvals, correspondence, account reconciliation, etc., is recorded accurately and promptly

 

  • Creates and maintains standard operating procedures and manuals for premium processing functions; determines relevance of general information to keep documentation current; stays abreast of overall department activities and projects; accepts source documents and creates documentation in the desired format; controls distribution of documentation as authorized

 

  • Assists with trouble-shooting relative to databases, reports, system files, etc.; documents and communicates resolution of system issues with affected areas; audits, monitors, and evaluates the quality of reporting provided; documents quality issues and performance measures for management review

 

  • Reconciles group level premiums; reviews payments for variances and matches relevant details to premium payments; coordinates obtaining required billing documentation for select groups; researches pended payments and takes necessary steps to resolve issues by contacting appropriate parties; adjusts accounts based on collected information

 

  • Performs group level maintenance changes, analyzes and handles service requirements from various sources associated with complex accounts; calls or sends letters to request additional information or confirm action; researches customer correspondence, account invoices, and payment history; determines the disposition of funds not paid as billed or allocated with appropriate suspense account

 

  • Communicates internally and externally with payroll accounts, sales producers and various departments to obtain additional information or confirm changes

 

  • Enters data into established system from various sources; analyzes group history information provided on documents and takes appropriate action; analyzes exception review cases and recommends appropriate action; completes action once approved

 

  • Performs other duties as required

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $40,000 - $55,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
