Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbia, SC for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

 

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

 

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment and selection, training, and compensation and benefits

 

  • Skill in monitoring performance of individuals and the organization to make improvements or take corrective action

 

  • Skill in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or a related field
  • 5 - 6 years of professional job-related work experience Minimum
  • 4 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Experience in the insurance industry or with Aflac in a service-related department

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily activities of a team of first line supervisors responsible for the day-to-day operations of a team of Specialists engaged in reviewing, issuing and/or suspending new policy applications; assists senior management in the development of department objectives and goals; ensures that operations are managed within authorized budgets

 

  • Ensures appropriate review of deliverables and interprets performance against established operating plans and standards and implements follow-up activities; assists in the development and implementation of new initiatives including process improvements within New Business while maintaining optimum service levels and quality

 

  • Creates and implements recovery plans when service levels and quality are not within expected levels; Provides internal communication outlining alerts to service concerns

 

  • Ensures that applicable state, federal, and insurance industry rules, regulations, and guidelines are followed; manages the identification of areas of vulnerability related to compliance with standards and regulations and coordinates the implementation of corrective action, as needed; ensures adherence to implemented corrective measures

 

  • Manages and administers the training, development, coaching, and mentoring of the supervisory team; conducts regular supervisor team meetings; manages production volumes and staffing to meet service level agreements; manages the quality of service provided by performing quality checks; researches complex issues and educates team members to increase service levels; manages adherence to schedules, policies and procedures

 

  • Performs other related duties as required

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $80,000 - $110,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
