Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbia, SC for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications to support the creation, editing, and maintenance of documentation.
- Working knowledge of writing fundamentals, including grammar, spelling, and basic composition, to support development, editing, and proofreading of clear and professional materials.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to support collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Foundational knowledge of organizational products, systems, and processes, with the ability to ask questions and seek clarification to support accurate documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on maintaining accuracy, consistency, and quality of deliverables.
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree English, Business Administration, or related field
- 4 years of work experience performing duties directly related to the duties of this position

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Adheres to established documentation standards and guidelines for style, format, and publication; supports communication of updates to stakeholders, including subject matter experts, departments, and applicable systems.
- Researches, gathers, and verifies information from primary and secondary sources to create, revise, and maintain procedural and process documentation; compiles information, interprets requirements, and drafts and edits materials to meet defined timelines.
- Participates in cross-functional efforts to support the development of new procedures and policy manuals; assists in the review of procedural documentation and contributes to maintaining current and relevant content.
- Edits, proofreads, and formats assigned documentation, including procedures and manuals, to ensure consistency, completeness, and alignment with established standards; maintains awareness of departmental activities and updates documentation as needed.
- Maintains and organizes documentation repositories, ensuring materials are current, accurate, and aligned with organizational, regulatory, and procedural requirements.
- Conducts research on existing procedures and processes to support requests from functional areas such as Legal, Compliance, and Internal Audit, including preparation of documentation for audits or inquiries.
- Partners with functional areas and internal stakeholders to support alignment of documentation with regulatory requirements and assists in addressing documentation-related questions.
- Contributes to ongoing improvements in Document Control by collaborating with team members, participating in discussions, and supporting updates to documentation and processes; participates in peer review activities to support quality and consistency.

Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $45,000 - $60,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
