Job Summary

Collaborates across investment accounting teams to assist and improve processes related to the preparation and completion of monthly accounting entries to the general ledger for GAAP and statutory to ensure accuracy of income statement and balance sheet


Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Ability to work independently to identify and resolve accounting and/or transaction discrepancies and provide detailed explanations for variances for investments and derivatives 
  • Assists with the training and development of other team members 
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with business partners, including Accounting Policy, Tax, Financial Reporting, Global Investments, and internal and external auditors 
  • Assists in developing and implementing new applications and analytical models, or enhancing existing systems and processes 
  • Provides direct support to the investment accounting management team 
  • Performs other duties as required


Education & Experience Required

  • Minimum Required Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance or a related field
  • Minimum Required Four years of job-related work experience


Education & Experience Preferred

  • Preferred CFA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent training and certification
  • Preferred Corporate level or investment accounting experience in an organization of comparable size
  • Preferred Experience in statutory accounting, investment accounting, derivative accounting, treasury accounting, or other comparable demonstrated ability and knowledge of investment activities


Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Knowledge & Skills 

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access software applications with VBA/macro experience preferred 
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP, Treasury systems and/or Crystal Reports or similar accounting/financial software 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and financial systems user applications (SAP preferred), including input/output processing and complex system concepts, and ability to understand and use computer systems and application tools for analysis 
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience performing financial analysis, reporting, and/or process improvement
