Job Summary

Performs predictive analysis using advanced mathematical techniques to discover explanatory and predictive models of business performance that represent the inherent relationship between data inputs and outputs/business outcomes, in addition to performing diagnostic and descriptive analysis, while employing CRISP-DM (Cross Industry Standards for Data Mining)

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs organizational research by gathering, interpreting and comparing operational data to benchmarking/best practice data, identifies significant business issues, trends and opportunities and provides insights/recommendations to the organization

 

• Develops tactical reporting and analysis frameworks, considering performance of at least three business areas

 

 • Develops and maintains databases, to include documenting standards for use, control, updating and maintenance of databases within internal business areas

 

 • Develops and updates mathematical modeling tools for internal business areas

 

• Leads special projects requiring commensurate analytical expertise and the development of executive level presentations

 

• Ensures appropriate measures and reports are defined and implemented to assess organizational performance and/or initiative performance

 

• Remains abreast of the latest software to build reports and conduct analysis most efficiently

 

 • Mentors and supports the development and training of analysts in Business Analytics and other internal business areas

 

• Assists with strategic efforts/business planning by gathering metrics, performing analysis, and creating deliverable tracking

 

• Performs other related duties as required

 

Education & Experience Required

 

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 - 4 years of job related experience
  • Successful analytical work supporting business requirement to include work with predictive analytics

 

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Proven analytical skills with the ability to mentor and train other analysts and business partners on analytical methods, tools, reports, and data

 

• Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with all levels of management; ability to maintain professionalism

 

 • Knowledge of the operations of the business and the insurance industry • Ability to successfully work independently or with a team

 

 • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data
