Job Summary

Drives the technological advancement and enhancement of the Aflac Travel & Meetings Web site, with the goal of creating an Intranet community to serve the field force and employees; provides technical solutions to meet user needs; plans and develops design solutions based on interaction with the field and management; researches and recommends enhancements to the systems that support the field force and the Travel & Meetings Division


Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Enhances the Travel & Meetings Web and Mobile APP content to increase the ease and efficiency of registering for Aflac events and conventions, and other travel by our field force and employees; develops, designs, and/or edits content for the Web page and Mobile APP; writes specifications and complies with style and branding guidelines; plans, develops, and implements Web site objectives; manages business initiatives and projects regarding the Web site and Mobile APPs 
  • Develops innovations to improve the management of the meetings management database to allow the merging of airline and other data; collect feedback through surveys and other data points to allow for analysis and reporting on budget, expenses, and savings; document existing and new processes to ensure compliance with ISO certification standards 
  • Leads simple or complex projects when necessary, working on solutions with various groups across divisions and outside vendors to improve service; coordinates Web-related activities and initiatives with Information Technology, associates, and others; tracks the impact of initiatives and enhancements, and reports to executive management
  • Acts as a resource/representative to ensure that the Web site standards are maintained; responds to comments and suggestions from the field associates, executives, and employees, and creates innovative solutions; serves as liaison with Travel and Meeting team and the contracted event management company to address identified issues and pursue efficiencies 
  • Performs other duties as required


Education & Experience Required 

  • Minimum Required Bachelor's Degree Computer Science 
  • Minimum Required Four to six years of job related work experience


Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Job Knowledge & Skills 

  • Microsoft Word: Advanced 
  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced 
  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Advanced 
  • Working knowledge of HTML prototypes, specifications, and style guidelines 
  • Demonstrated experience in Web document content with a broad understanding of the Internet/Web culture and functionality 
  • Expert knowledge of Web-based concept designs and Web architecture 
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop or equivalent software packages 
  • Expert knowledge of online travel systems and online booking programs 
  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact and act as an advisor on professional and technical issues with Aflac’s senior management and internal and external business contacts
