Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

• If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
• If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

• Advanced analytical skills including strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, and SQL.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks and statistical tools; familiarity with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, Google Cloud.

 • Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

• Expertise in using advanced analytics techniques including predictive modeling, natural language processing or optimization.

• Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with all levels of management; ability to maintain professionalism

• Foundational knowledge of the operations of the business and the insurance industry.

• Ability to collaborate with business unit customers, IT and other business partners, to deliver results. • Strong facilitation and project management skills.

 • Ability to work independently or in teams, often under tight deadlines.

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor's Degree Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field. 
• 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics/consulting
• Demonstrated experience performing complex predictive and prescriptive business related analyses.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Education & Experience Preferred

• Experience in delivering client-facing data projects.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs prescriptive analysis using advanced mathematical techniques to computationally determine a set of beneficial alternative actions, or decisions given a complex set of objectives, requirements, and limitations, with the goal of improving business performance; performs predictive, diagnostic and descriptive analysis.

 • Performs organizational research by gathering, interpreting and comparing operational data to benchmarking/best practice data, identifies significant business issues, trends and opportunities and provides insights/recommendations to the organization

• Develops reporting and analysis frameworks for strategic initiatives.

 • Leads special projects requiring commensurate analytical expertise and the development of executive level presentations; to include identifying, defining, and implementing best-in-class analytical practices.

• Assists with strategic efforts and business planning by gathering metrics, performing analysis, and creating deliverable tracking.

• Meets with clients to understand their business goals, challenges, and data needs; translates client objectives into actionable data science projects.

• Presents complex data findings and insights in a clear, non-technical manner to stakeholders.

• Develops predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to solve client-

specific problems.

• Design customized data-driven solutions, including predictive models, forecasting tools, or optimization strategies.

 • Provides guidance on best practices for data management, data quality and model deployment.

 • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement data science solutions in production environments.

• Creates dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tolls like Tableau, Power Bi or other platforms to present insights clearly.

 • Communications data analysis results and actionable recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.

 • Coordinate with internal teams including software developers and other consultants to deliver comprehensive solutions.

• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to offer innovative solutions to clients.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $103,500 to $150,000 . This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
