Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Proficiency in working with CSV, Text, Excel, Word and PDF file formats

 

  • Ability to perform advanced functions in Excel including VLOOKUPS and IF/THEN statements

 

  • Proficient in using Text Editors for analyzing data in fixed-length format

 

  • Ability to compare, analyze, troubleshoot and identify discrepancies within a data file

 

  • Knowledge of EDI file testing and/or file processing preferred

 

  • Experience in the insurance industry and underwriting preferred

 

  • Basic understanding of Enrollment Technologies, including 3rd party enrollment software providers’ offerings and requirements, as well as key trends and players in the enrollment technology space

 

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with internal/external customers, all levels of management, and the ability to communicate technical aspects and present findings effectively; ability to maintain professionalism

 

  • In depth knowledge of Aflac products, eligibility requirements and systems related to account management and enrollment

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2 - 4 years of professional work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Experience successfully leading business and technological projects in a dynamic environment
  • Experience in the insurance industry

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in detailed analyzation of standard vendor files to validate successful or unsuccessful results; researches file failures or discrepancies and determines solutions to improve or correct failed file transactions; provides failure notifications to appropriate internal business partners to add awareness/visibility for impacted clients; partners with internal and external business partners to support the development and implementation of enrollment strategies for technology providers and select career associates

 

  • Reviews electronic test files through manual auditing and system-generated error logs in order to identify errors and determine global solutions needed for enrollment partners; reviews all case documents and associated content against data within electronic file to ensure data is accurate; partners with ETC and enrollment partner to resolve the root cause of identified file errors and avoid reoccurrence; communicates results to Enrollment Technology Consultant (ETC) with recommended solutions

 

  • Works with internal parties to ensure Aflac’s enrollment systems are updated to support incoming case documents and eligibility criteria per current enrollment partner capabilities; works with enrollment implementation teams to identify process improvements for enrollment delivery effectiveness and performance; requests process exceptions from leadership when necessary

 

  • Assists with establishing Secure File Transfer protocols per client / vendor, and ensures that correct file-naming conventions are consistently utilized; maintains EDI mapping guidelines at a client/vendor level to ensure compliance to all business requirements; escalates critical and complex issues to higher level team members or leadership as necessary

 

  • Supports the Enrollment Technology Consultant with presentations for clients, brokers, consultants, and the field force to demonstrate the capabilities of the enrollment system; analyzes an account’s benefits offering and recommends improvements as necessary; coordinates data acquisition in an approved format

 

  • Communicates technical concepts simply and effectively to nontechnical team members/customers

 

  • Performs other duties as required

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $50,000 - $60,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
