Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Accounting or Budgetary Software: Advanced (SAP Preferred)
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience performing complex financial analyses and related valuation methodologies, systems and quantitative business-based analyses, and creating metrics; ability to prepare statistical studies and trend analyses using internal and external information to demonstrate relevant changes and recommend improvements or solutions
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other financial related federal regulations, state insurance department statutes, and state regulations
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Advanced knowledge of the business operations of assigned groups/divisions supported
- Ability to collaborate with customers, business partners, FP&A team, and all levels of leadership to deliver results
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance, or a related field
- Eight years of professional job-related work experience
- 5 years of experience in financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and statistical analysis
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- Master’s Degree finance or a quantitative field
- Insurance industry experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Works with Financial Reporting, FP&A Business Partners (FBPs), and other Corporate FP&A resources to collect appropriate expense data, and manage/develop product costing views for as required for the US segment entities
- Conducts ongoing process constraint analyses
- Contributes to expense allocations and distribution to products, channel, etc., to establish unit cost/profitability and influence pricing decisions in the Actuarial department to includes support of the Value of New Business (VNB) initiative
- Performs monthly and quarterly cost studies/updates for the US
- Performs cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings/rationalization so that costs are aligned with strategies
- Reports, analyzes, and interprets financial and operating data, including financial statement and performance assessments; prepares updates, progress and variance reports, and other ad hoc reports for management reporting
- Serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to other team members and external customers
- Leads US FP&A projects
- Acts as a financial consultant and adviser to division leaders related to expense management; serves as point of contact to anticipate and identify FP&A needs, communicates and introduces service requests into FP&A organization, and collaborates with division leadership on expense management opportunities
- Supports US/AGI FBPs in analyzing expense performance trends across business dimensions (e.g., channel, product, market, etc.) as needed; identifies risks and opportunities and means to address
- Works with cost center managers to develop DAC percentages for Aflac Columbus in accordance with GAAP and company policy
- As needed, assists with developing summary narratives to “tell the story” behind performance gaps and trends
- Creates Statutory plan for general expenses and creation of STAT P&L
- Performs other duties as assigned

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $160,000.
