Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbia, SC for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

• Knowledge and experience using data retrieval and analysis software for mainframe and PC

 

• Ability to use accounting knowledge to research or analyze financial applications

• Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and financial systems user applications, including input/output processing and system concepts

 

• Knowledge and experience performing financial analysis, systems, and quantitative businessbased analysis; ability to prepare trend analyses using internal and external information to demonstrate relevant changes and recommend improvements and solutions

 

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with business units

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, finance or a related field
  • Two years of job-related work experience in corporate-level accounting or financial systems accounting

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs daily validation of nightly system cycles for Wynsure, VUE and FSCD; ensures that claims benefits, premium refunds and commissions processed are paid and correctly passed to FSCD and with appropriate entries in SAP; performs job duties in in accordance with established policies and procedures.

 

• Performs daily validation of all incoming interfaces into the SAP system; resolves discrepancies through research and makes adjustments or coordinates corrective actions with IT or the business units; processes manual clearings, queries and analyzes financial data validates system reports and uses system knowledge to research and troubleshoot operational and financial issues.

 

• Performs reconciliation of cash to premium quarterly and works with Sr. Financial team member as needed to research and identify variances.

 

• Performs reconciliations of Wynsure, VUE and FSCD check and ACH clearing accounts, claims and suspense accounts; researches discrepancies, makes adjustments, coordinates corrective action with IT or the business units.

 

• Extracts, prepares, and analyzes accounting and statistical data, interprets trends or deviations from past performances to create accurate reports for management and other departments throughout the company.

 

• Identifies financial operational problems with Aflac systems and alerts appropriate personnel of system errors or malfunctions and controls that may impact company operations.

 

• Develops documentation and training for end users on how to effectively use financial system features and related applications (i.e. Wynsure, VUE, FSCD, SAP).

 

• Assists with project deliverables such as project initiation requests, business and technical requirements, use cases, interface specifications, risk and issue logs, training plans and elevation/validation plans.

 

• Provides testing support and analysis for defect resolution.

 

• Monitors and analyzes processes for continuous improvement.

 

• Performs other duties as required.

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $42,000 to $98,000.
