What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Working knowledge of corporate dining services and operations, including proper table settings and meal presentations, flower arrangement, banquet and beverage setup, and seating arrangements
  • Ability to recognize and effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management and honored guests while providing for their needs and personal preferences
  • Ability to maintain a professional, polished image
  • Ability to be sensitive to cultural differences, including how body language, gestures, etc., are perceived in other countries, and knowledge of cultural etiquette guidelines
  • Ability to learn and apply ongoing training in dining and business etiquette
  • Ability to work with interpreters and translators
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license and a good driving record and the ability to maintain insurability with company insurance carrier

 

Education & Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 year job-related work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Presents and serves meals and provides hospitality services to Aflac senior management, customers, international guests, visitors, and employees, including formal dining service, casual functions, receptions, luncheons, banquets, cocktail parties, Japanese tea service, conferences, and meetings
  • Prepares and distributes refreshments and meals; provides bar service; assists with set up, serving, and clean up of executive functions at various locations of company-owned properties
  • Arranges tables, decorations, and hors d'oeuvres; serves foods and beverages to guests; washes and packs dishes and utensils for removal
  • Ensures that food is prepared as ordered and assists in preparation of specialty items; ensures that food preparation, delivery, and room setup is completed by requested time
  • Performs housekeeping duties by ensuring cleanliness of certain assigned areas of the company, including tasks such as sanitizing countertops, checking and cleaning refrigerators, and removing trash; provides assistance to senior-level team members as needed
  • Performs all tasks and takes all precautions necessary to ensure that a safe and clean environment is maintained; follows all appropriate documented safety and/or hazard policies or procedures, and wears all appropriate safety equipment while present, performing duties, and/or operating equipment
  • Light to moderate physical effort required
  • Standing or walking most of the day
  • Lifting, carrying, or using lightweight materials (up to 35 lbs.)
  • Pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
  • Flexible work schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Driving locally within a 30-mile radius
  • Operates company vehicles daily to move supplies, and materials when required
  • Performs other related duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $33,280 - $50,000.
