Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, Ga for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office business suite of software including advanced proficiency in Word
  •  Advanced proficiency and experience with HTML formatting and editing software features
  • Proficient in SharePoint and other Integrated Knowledge Solutions software
  •  Can comfortably present Knowledge Management methods, best practices, and recommendations to resolve business needs to leadership Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and resolve routine issues under general supervision.
  •  Strong knowledge of software, formats, standards, and best practices for the design and development of various forms of manuals and training related materials such as online, web based, classroom, or video
  •  Can clearly and succinctly articulate ideas and/or proposals regarding Knowledge Management strategies and practices
  •  Ability to support recommendations with well documented and well-defined criteria and references to advocate the desired course of action
  •  Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication and team facilitation skills to effectively interact with the Integrated Knowledge Solutions team, business units, and IT
  •  Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
  • Three years of professional job-related work experience
  • Experience working with methodologies that support business unit documentation; explicit knowledge distinction for the purpose of knowledge retention/knowledge management 

 

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Experience working with technology that supports business unit documentation such as HTML, Adobe Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud suite, VBA, and InfoPath.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the management, delivery, and promotion of knowledge activities; supports the development, maintenance, and integration of knowledge management tools and templates; implements standards of practice that promote the sharing of knowledge; represents Integrated Knowledge Solutions on cross-functional teams to improve engagement, performance, and retention practices
  • Reviews and evaluates information architecture for each Administrative Operations Business Unit to meet internal electronic publishing guidelines and ensure the most appropriate and effective organization of information for end-users; conducts focus group sessions to obtain end-user feedback and works collaboratively with communication specialists to improve the organization and layout of documents; develops and presents layout design proposals to Administrative Operations business unit management; utilizes a wide variety of feedback mechanisms to ensure effective information sharing
  • Plans, organizes, and implements changes to the organization and layout of documents based on metrics and data collected from observations, interviews, and focus groups; monitors, updates, and maintains end-user access to documents (permission levels) in accordance with business unit needs and best practices for system performance
  • Serves as the administrator for the Integrated Knowledge Solutions site; creates reports and audits confirming the enforcement of policies, procedures, best practices and associated plans for the Integrated Knowledge Solutions web-based Intranet training site as defined by Company standards
  • Provides training for Administrative Operations employees related to SharePoint site administration; assists with building sites and documentation; trains the Integrated Knowledge Solutions team and business unit staff on navigation of SharePoint; leads special projects related to SharePoint
  • Assist in the creation of Document Control guidelines and processes; conducts research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of knowledge management enhancements and development efforts
  • Meets with users, training staff, and document control staff to understand business needs and to determine data requirements and specifications for the establishment of reports and/or database for Integrated Knowledge Solutions and Document Control business units
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $55,000 to $70,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
