Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Five to six years of job-related experience
- 4 years in a leadership/senior/supervisory capacity demonstrating skills in staff development, problem resolution, and project management
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- Related work experience and knowledge of the insurance industry with specific focus on Aflac’s sales force organization, internal operations, system, terminology, and business procedures
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversees the review, analysis, negotiation, and communication of various operational and product exceptions to and from internal and external customers, including Aflac’s sales force, Legal, and Actuarial; seeks a profitable sales outcome based on desired growth and expected costs and claims
- Oversees initiatives and activities that provide support in all aspects of the preparation of high-quality proposals, presentations, and bids
- Oversees the formulation of strategic plans to improves the process and information for bid and proposal packages
- Partners with business units to develop solutions for underwriting proposals and accounts
- Defines and develops a process that will demonstrate ease of doing business and improves the customer experience with Sales Support Administration
- Develops and implements creative problem-solving solutions to solve for emerging market threats and competitive trends
- Collaborates with sales partners to bridge the gap and ensure our sales strategies are successfully taken from formulation to execution
- Provides leadership, motivates, and coaches departmental team members to achieve service- level objectives and personal goals through consistent and constructive documented feedback; provides challenging tasks and assignments and constructs compelling development plans to increase the skill level of the team; provides information about the strategies and goals and reviews and interprets performance against plans and standards; ensures continuous knowledge transfer to less experienced team members; identifies primary and secondary resources for all team responsibilities to ensure that service-level objectives can be maintained at all times
- Manages assigned projects, including developing timelines, resource needs, and cost/benefit analyses using approved corporate methodology; develops and maintains all documentation related to team responsibilities, processes, procedures, and business rules for operational training and project reference; develops and communicates the team business plan based on the corporate and division business plan, and monitors progress and evaluates opportunities to accelerate or exceed targets; develops and monitors the team budget outlining resources and expenses needed to fulfill business plan commitments, and initiates actions to achieve targets without compromising financial objectives; researches, evaluates, and initiates new technology and/or industry trends to eliminate manual processes/procedures by automating business transactions
- Drives the communication and prepares presentations for executive management regarding strategic, planning, and product identification; organizes and conducts customer focus group activities; recommends future product exception/development trends
- Communicates extensively with internal departments and external customers to facilitate resolution of issues or challenges to maximize customer satisfaction; assumes personal ownership of escalated issues or executive-assigned customer cases, including direct contact with customer and written follow-up to internal and external parties; maintains and interprets statistics on Exception trends related to inefficiencies, errors, or customer challenges and recommends changes in business practices (team, department, division, or corporate) to improve both internal operations and customer satisfaction
- Oversees and performs analysis in support of process improvement efforts and planning; provides operational data to determine impact of business process changes to Aflac and Aflac’s field force; gathers required information for use in process mapping
- Performs other duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $185,000.
