Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Six years of professional job-related work experience
  • Four years in a leadership/senior/supervisory role
  • Experience successfully managing budgets

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Insurance industry experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs and leads team in planning, advises, and reviews budgets; provides information regarding expense allocation, budget tracking, and reports to management, business units, territory directors or market directors; monitors the use of budgeted resources to ensure corporate goals are met, reviews expenditures versus budget, and prepares reports for management that explain variances; oversees the reimbursement process and ensures compliance with guidelines and documentation

 

• Directs the analysis of data to assist with operational and strategic plans; oversees the collection and analysis of data to create and evaluate programs to assist with initiatives; continuously tracks and analyzes spend patterns to identify best practices and drive implementation of these best practices

 

• Analyzes departmental operations and implements processes and procedures to streamline activities, handle problem situations, enhance service turnaround time, increase productivity, and improve quality; directs and oversees the workflow of the business unit and ensures that workflow processes facilitate effective and efficient use of corporate resources and enhance customer satisfaction

 

• Monitors the design and effectiveness of the system of internal control for US Financial Planning & Analysis functions; implements changes to the internal control structure and design as changing business requirements may warrant

 

• Manages the development of appropriate models, reports, and metrics to support informed decision making; evaluates proposed projects to determine costs, benefits, and feasibility; manages process measurement requirements to ensure efficient and effective use of information resources; manages planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes

 

• Accomplishes department objectives by managing and training staff while planning and evaluating department activities

 

• Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems, and recommending system improvements

 

• Defines objectives, identifies and evaluates trends and options, chooses a course of action, and evaluates outcomes

 

• Performs other related duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $193,000.
