Job Summary

Within Aflac Global Investments (GI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aflac, Inc., the Portfolio Analytics and Reporting Analyst will provide analytical, reporting, and operational support to the portfolio management and investment functions within the public credit asset classes. The role offers a unique opportunity to learn and gain exposure to various fixed income asset classes, while working closely with senior investment professionals and other departments of Aflac Global Investments.

 

Reports to Head of Business Intelligence, with a main focus in supporting Credit (IG and HY) investment teams

 

General Responsibilities

  • Facilitate portfolio management processes in coordination with Credit investment teams
  • Prepare reporting, analysis and commentary of investment performance, activity, and key metrics across credit portfolios
  • Coordinate and prepare presentation materials for senior investment and board committees, senior management,  and external meetings
  • Perform thematic, ad-hoc portfolio analysis based on market themes (e.g., stress scenario analysis, inflation impact analysis, etc.) in coordination with investment teams
  • Model, coordinate, and track assumptions (e.g., deployment, spreads, yields, call activity) for investment planning / budgeting
  • Maintain and enhance strong data framework in coordination with IT and Data teams to support reporting and analytical needs
  • Serve as a central point of contact for the portfolio team liaising with internal stakeholders (e.g., Investment Accounting, Risk, Treasury, Data Management, Audit) to identify and resolve issues

 

Candidate Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, or similar quantitative is required. CFA (or in progress) is a plus
  • Experience is asset management or financial services preferred, working knowledge of asset class: Fixed Income (core/core+), Private Assets, and/or Alternatives.
  • 7+ years of related work experience in investment field
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage large and complex data; actively drive reporting efficiencies, automate, and advance analytics
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative data management, analytical and critical thinking skills; demonstrated ability to successfully present and communicate results of the analysis
  • Superior presentation skills, with ability to synthesize data and design slides with crisp messaging and storyline for executive audience
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across organization to solve issues and drive solutions
  • Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple deliverables independently
  • Experience in insurance industry a plus
