Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA for at least 60% of the work week. What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • An ability to assess, understand and mitigate threats to the company and people
  • Possess (or have the ability to obtain) an Armed Security Officer Certification in the state where your worksite it based and a license to carry a concealed handgun
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Strong experience with: executive protection, intelligence analysis and risk assessments.
  • Ability to effectively communicate security-related concepts/concerns to all levels of personnel to include Senior Management and Executives.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public/private security and protection principles and practices; relevant laws and regulations that govern the protection of information security and physical assets.

  • Successful completion of CPR/First Aid & AED certification every two years

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid
  • Successful completion of the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) or Certified in Security Supervisor Management (CSSM) course or Federal or State Law Enforcement Academy or equivalent military or police training.
  • 6+ years of experience in physical security, preferably within a large organization or 4+ years of law enforcement leadership role or protective services

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leveraging advanced protective skills and technology, accompanies designated executives on all movements and provides body cover to mitigate risk. Using specialized procedures and equipment, conducts advance site planning and preliminary search and movement procedures in coordination with local and federal agency support resources.
  • Initiates emergency-response actions in the event of crises, emergencies or threats to designated executives and provide first responder level medical support as circumstances dictate and takes proactive measures to prevent such incidents
  • Briefs security leadership on global incidents and emerging threats and provides intelligence gained through research, security systems access and industry relationships.
  • Supervise and coordinate after-hours protection and security operations to ensure safety and compliance with policies.
  • Participates in providing protective service as directed for senior executive and other high-risk staff and their families during non-standard business hours
  • Train and onboard new security officers, ensuring adherence to organizational protocols and expectations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consultation to internal departments and external consultants regarding physical security measures and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular assessments of security processes and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Prepare detailed reports and logs of overnight activities, incidents, and investigations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop training materials and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct security threat assessments while reviewing the daily schedule and projected travel itinerary of the executives to identify potential security and safety related issues.
  • Ensure reconnaissance of locations on the travel itinerary for designated executives are conducted to identify potential risks and countermeasures to mitigate the risk
  • Perform logistical support for the executive’s movements by coordinating with hosts, staff, drivers and others to ensure a seamless and consistent application of protective security measures
  • Gives tips and precautions on how to prevent security-threatening situations
  • Attends specialized training in tactical driving, self-defense, certification in First Aid/CPR, defibrillator usage and first responder medicine.
  • Ability to assist with evacuations
  • Ability to help lead employees, vendors, and guests to safety in an emergency situation
  • Ability to observe, report and protect Aflac employees and assets
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement and emergency services as required.

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $80,000 to $105,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
