Worker Designation – This role is a remote role. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree In accounting, finance or a related field.
  • 2 or more years of professional job-related experience
  • Basic knowledge of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) codes and regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP), municipal ordinances, state insurance department statutes, and other state regulations, with an emphasis on tax accounting/reporting

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Works under general supervision to complete tasks using established procedures; escalates complex issues to more experienced team members.

 

• Supports reconciliation of disability and statutory payments; reviews claims and absence data for discrepancies and performs payment calculations.

 

• Researches and follows up on pending payments; contacts appropriate parties to gather information and help resolve issues.

 

• Reviews account details such as invoices and payment history to support issue resolution.

 

• Prepares and submits standard requests for client funding and payment processing.

 

• Records transactions and support general ledger updates including journal entries.

 

• Assist with audits and data checks to help ensure accuracy of payments and reporting; supports preparation of standard reports and communicates with internal teams to gather or confirm information.

 

• Assist with servicing client accounts by reviewing requests, documenting activities, and responding to inquiries

 

• Responds to routine inquiries related to payments, tax forms (W-2/1099), and account activity.

 

• Performs other duties as required.

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $55,000 to $70,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
