Job Summary
Responsible for the application of policy provisions and information needs related to pre- and post-disability financial calculations on disability claims. Responsible for calculating pre-disability earnings, COLAs, deductions, offsets, overpayments, and underpayments in accordance with the provisions in the group disability policies.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Calculates pre-disability earnings, COLAs, deductions, offsets, overpayments, underpayments, and other and ongoing financial work in accordance with the provisions in the group disability policies
• Responsible for the application of policy provisions related to pre- and post-disability financial calculations
• Provides an ongoing review of claimant return to work earnings calculations
• Reviews offset coding in the claims payment system for known offsets and adjusts as necessary
• Reviews and ensures the accuracy of the benefit components in the claims payment systems
• Reviews documentation and coding for the disability benefit taxability, including FIT, SIT, FICA
• Demonstrates strong communication around financial aspect of claim to be available to the Case Managers for calculation explanations
• Makes Policyholder/ Insured calls as necessary and appropriate to obtain missing financial information
• Performs other duties as required
Education & Experience Required
- High School Diploma
- Two to five years of work-related experience
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite software
Education & Experience Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or related field
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
