Job Summary

As part of the Product Development team, the Group Life Product Strategy Lead is responsible for the maintaining and operationalizing all Life product related functions. This role focuses on large, complex projects, product structure, and development. Leads multiple projects simultaneously from beginning to completion. Responsible for scoping, prioritization, drafting, issue resolution, communication, and understanding of the Group Life Product strategy. Ensures appropriate change management practices are effectively utilized throughout the lifecycle to improve execution and delivery of results.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Leads the team to deliver the products needed within the coverage strategy of the Line of Business (LoBs) as originally developed; manages the Product Development process from beginning to end, serving as a trusted advisor between Product, Underwriting, Corporate Law, Claims Legal, Regulatory Affairs and the Business Units (BU) and other Service Support Units; may act as project manager for larger projects; leads the development of detailed work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports

 

Understands and facilitates implementation of the Product Strategy

 

Oversees projects from original concept through final implementation within the Product Development Process Scope

 

Translates product specifications to fit technology and systems

 

Ensures that all assigned projects are completed within agreed upon time frames

 

Participates in the development, implementation, and institutionalization of best practices around project execution and change management

 

Recommends changes to policies, systems, products/ services to leaders

 

Ensures that appropriate documentation, implementation, and communication of established policy, procedures and operating standards is completed for the Life Product

 

Regularly monitors and evaluates activities to identify potential risks and issues of non-compliance

 

Participates or may lead risk assessment for the Life product and escalates potential issues to higher management

 

Performs other duties as assigned

 

Education & Experience Required

Bachelor's Degree in a related field

 

5 or more years or related experience

 

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
