Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Experience mentoring UX team members and overseeing work to ensure appropriate UX processes are followed to ensure quality and reduce risks
  • Advanced skills facilitating strategic planning for the UX practice
  • Proficiency in developing organizational frameworks, standards, and techniques for experience design, research and content
  • Skills in mentoring, coaching, and developing a diverse team of UX designers, researchers, and content designers
  • Ability to engage and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, and coordinating crossfunctional teams

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Marketing, Behavioral Science, Computer Science or related field
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in User Experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and communicates a clear UX vision and strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Advocates for user-centered design principles at the executive level
  • Provides overall oversight across team or teams of UX designers, researchers, and/or content strategists
  • Looks across the digital product portfolio and identifies opportunities based on business goals and key performance indicators
  • Reviews work of others and takes responsibility for ensuring appropriate process to manage risks associated with publishing
  • Plans and leads strategic, large and complex programs
  • Develops organizational frameworks, standards, and techniques/tools for user experience
  • Collaborates with business and product teams to identify align, and design innovation opportunities
  • Mentors and develops team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
  • Assists in allocating resources effectively to ensure the UX team can meet demands
  • Secures necessary tools, technologies, and training for the team
  • Works closely with product management, engineering and other departments to integrate UX into the product development process
  • Performs other duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $167,000.
