Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.

  • If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership. 
  • If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

This position plays a critical role in tracking and managing gaps in application recovery capabilities. This role ensures non-compliant applications are remediated effectively and efficiently, aligning with global disaster recovery policies and standards to strengthen the organization’s business and cyber resilience. The analyst also develops and maintains reporting dashboards to provide stakeholders with clear and actionable insights into recovery compliance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and reporting techniques.
  • Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and IT resilience frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration or related field
  • Four or more years of professional job related work experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

  • A designation of Certified Business Continuity Planner
  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Business Continuity, or a related discipline.
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP)
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
    • ITIL Foundation Certification
  • Additional certifications, such as:
    • ISO 22301 Lead Implementer or Auditor
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Data Analytics or Visualization Tools Certification (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Compliance Tracking and Issue Management

Identify and document gaps in application recovery capabilities relative to global disaster recovery policies and standards.

Manage an issues resolution process, including remediation plans, ownership, and timelines.

Monitor the progress of remediation plans, escalating overdue issues when necessary.

  • Dashboard Development and Maintenance

Design and maintain real-time dashboards to track compliance metrics, remediation progress, and key recovery indicators.

Ensure dashboards meet the reporting needs of oversight committees, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

  • Reporting and Communication

Create periodic compliance reports summarizing recovery readiness and outstanding issues.

Present trends, risks, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders, including senior management and governance committees.=

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with application owners, technical teams, and business units to ensure effective remediation efforts.

Serve as a resource for guidance on compliance requirements and recovery standards.

  • Process Improvement and Analysis

Perform root cause analyses on recurring non-compliance issues, identifying trends and recommending systemic improvements.

Contribute to the refinement of recovery policies and standards based on real-world challenges and lessons learned

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $49,000 - $113,000.
