Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

What does it take to be successful in this role?

• Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, principles, and practices

 

• Knowledge of statistical analysis data and statistical quality control, with the ability to convey these to all levels of employees, paired with the ability to prepare statistical studies and trend analysis using internal and external information to demonstrate relevant changes or improvements

 

• An understanding of business fundamentals with practical experience in a number of human resources-related issues, and an understanding of quantitative business-based analysis and metrics

 

• Knowledge of budgeting and expense control to plan, implement, and manage expenditure of funds while maintaining and improving quality standards

 

• Strong project management, leadership, and practice development skills

 

• Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office software, including intermediate proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Project 

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree In business management or a related field
  • 5 - 6 years of professional job-related work experience
  • 2 years in a senior professional / leadership capacity overseeing operational efficiencies

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducts in-depth research and communicates suggestions to executive management regarding division and/or department strategy; develops division-wide and department specific activities, including project descriptions with success measures; utilizes direction and framework provided by senior management to develop content and recommendations for ad hoc projects

 

• Takes a leadership role in managing strategic activities and projects; conducts needs analysis to determine project resource needs; works closely with business unit management in the review of weekly and monthly reports; stays abreast of business performance and the status and progress of activities and initiatives

 

• Assists senior management with planning future divisional and departmental goals, and planning organizational structure and productivity improvements; recommends proper utilization of personnel and resources; reviews and evaluates organizational programs and recommends changes where appropriate; compiles monthly and quarterly updates for senior management to depict divisional performance against operational metrics and initiatives

 

• Conducts structure analysis, work process analysis, and process mapping for the organization; develops and updates business policies and practices, and project development documentation; develops and re-engineers staffing models and workflows, ensuring appropriate productivity and accountability metrics

 

• Assists senior management with developing agendas and drafting speeches for a wide variety of internal and external meetings and events; represents senior management at various meetings and events as needed; assists with creating development plans and succession planning for senior management direct reports; and maintains performance documentation

 

• Serves as point-of-contact for the business planning process, including compiling and communicating quarterly updates; develops analytical models that pertain to the overall operation of the business unit and completes reports summarizing activities and trends; reviews processes and procedures to streamline activities to enhance service turnaround time, productivity, and quality

 

• Assists management and operations analysts in the development of the organization’s business plan, budget and related activities; provides and gathers relevant information; may assist with the preparation of financial forecasts and cost proposals; monitors the use of budgeted resources, reviews departmental expenses versus budget, and prepares reports for management that explain variances and use

 

• Performs other related duties as assigned

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $57,000 to $145,000.
