Work Designation. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be hybrid or remote.
- If you live within 50 miles of the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be hybrid. This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.
- If you live more than 50 miles from the Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA or Columbia, SC, this role will be remote. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management, root cause analysis, and change management
- Proficient in process improvement techniques; diagnostic and creative problem-solving skills; and excellent, analytical, facilitation and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of project life cycle, business capabilities framework, and business process re-engineering
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and the ability to collaborate with business unit customers, IT, and management to reach a common agreement
- Strong consultative skill set including problem identification, solution development, and gaining buy in of customers
- Excellent presentation, oral, and written communications skills
- Ability to mentor and train project team members, analysts, and project managers
- Advanced skills in cultural awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Experience in leading cross functional teams
- Well versed in project management disciplines and methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.)

Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Eight years of professional job related work experience in project, program or portfolio management, business analysis, process improvement, change management, developing business and/or technical documentation for end-users, business process modeling/mapping, methodologies development and/or in leading complex projects with proven success
- Prior experience in a project management, consultative or problem solving environment that includes working with cross-functional groups to implement projects
- Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt) or other comparable project management/quality certification; program management (PGMP) certification preferred
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of multiple complex programs; oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic business and organizational objectives for programs that contain complex activities that may span functions, organization and geographic regions
- Provides strategic guidance and leadership to program management teams; maintains continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives, makes recommendations to enhance effectiveness toward the business result; ensures adherence of organizational goals, timelines, and budget requirements
- Builds and maintains stakeholder relationships; effectively communicates with key executives, cross functional teams, clients, and project management teams; clearly identify, develop, and inform on all goals, timelines, risks, and progress
- Identifies, analyzes, and mitigates program risks; evaluates methods of assessing program strengths and identify areas for improvement; monitors and assures that project work remains feasible from a business standpoint; works to maintain a strategic focus and ensure that efforts are driven to the final completion of projects
- Manage organizational change associated with programs; anticipate and identify barriers and facilitate transitions and solutions; identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements; implement best practices and lessons learned; ensure compliance with all organizational, regulatory, and contractual obligations; establish governance structures and controls to ensure the programs integrity
- Produces accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle; ensures that goals and deadlines are consistently being met or exceeded, including customer satisfaction, quality, and team performance
- Performs other duties as required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $120,000 to $140,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
