Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus,GA for at least 60% of the work week. What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Expert knowledge of sourcing principles, indirect procurement, supplier analysis, supplier relationship management principles, third party risk management principles, and primary and secondary research methods
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management and change management and ability to adapt the same to new situations
- Skill in and demonstrated experience performing financial/cost analyses, business case development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and decision modeling
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication and team facilitation skills to effectively interact and negotiate with senior management, internal and external customers, and suppliers
- Aptitude for conceptualizing, communicating and selling new concepts while also being able to take an analytic approach to problem solving and strategic development
- Ability to effectively communicate complex issues and concerns clearly to Aflac leadership and suppliers
- Strong personal computer skills with experience in Windows-based software (SAP and Ariba)
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology or Supply Chain Management
- 6+ of professional job-related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other sourcing, procurement, and/or supplier management

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform annual supplier risk assessments and report results to various executive level governance committees
- Proactively manage issue resolution, collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented according to internal guidelines
- Provide expertise in the development and governance of a Supplier Risk program anchored in an effective segmentation, ensuring the function's resources are devoted to suppliers in accordance with the risk they represent, as well as their potential and strategic importance to Aflac; collaborate with Supplier Relationship Management, Category Management and the business teams to define the characteristics of strategic, key and core suppliers, and the governance criteria for each segment
- Be a trusted resource to team and work in alignment with policies and risk definitions, collaborating broadly to reduce and mitigate the risks resulting from doing business with suppliers; defines risk mitigation strategies across the supplier base
- Facilitates the development of category-specific supplier risk and performance scorecards and dashboards in collaboration with the supplier relationship management, category teams and the business stakeholders
- For select segments of suppliers, coordinates the gathering of data and qualitative inputs to complete scorecard effort, including contractual obligations and material spend management, monitors supplier contract compliance
- Contribute to the relationship that category managers and supplier relationship managers develop with suppliers, to identify continuous improvement initiatives to lower total cost of ownership while ensuring vendors meet or exceed quality standards
- Coordinates and facilitates the development, prototyping and testing of risk initiatives, in collaboration with the business stakeholders

Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $95,000 to $125,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
