Position: Sr. Application Developer
Location: 1932 Wynnton Rd., Columbus, GA 31999
Duties:
- Develop, maintain, and integrate application software, related project management activity, and production support by working closely withinternal and external clients, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirement.
- Develop and integrate application software, including unit testing and implementation efforts including continuing to maintain and support software after implementation.
- Work on multiple projects at a time as a member of each project team, often as a project leader.
- Work on enterprise-wide small and large complex projects that require the highest level of expertise and participate on project teams, systems and data analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement activities, as well as related maintenance and more complex production support.
- Define and develop the project scope of multiple complex projects with assistance from the project team and serves as the project point of contact when necessary.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to application development teams.
- Lead and participate in project-planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze development requirements, provide design recommendations for complex systems, and recommend methods and assignments.
- Test and implement cross-functional systems, ensuring system meets the needs of client and business.
- Provide ongoing maintenance of software systems including handling unresolved production support issues across multiple areas of expertise.
- Provide design recommendations, develop application and custom integration solutions, including major enhancements and interfaces, and write complex design specifications.
- Implement complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with high specifications and division standards and review efforts to ensure compliance to application standards.
- Develop new cross-functional software systems using disciplined software development processes, and make recommendations toward the development of reusable routines or components, including object-oriented base class reuse.
- Translate business and technical requirements into cross-functional business application systems by providing custom integration solutions, including major system enhancements and collaborating in setting development guidelines.
- Prepare and present status updates for various projects, and serve as an individual contributor or technical lead on on-call duties required as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical degree.
- Must have 5 years of progressive experience in IT positions performing the following:
- Applying understanding of multiple programming languages and systems including systems and data design and project management methodologies.
- Demonstrating experience in all phases of software development including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications.
- Building and implementing model-driven, object-oriented enterprise-level business solutions and applications.
- Applying experience throughout the Wynsure/eWAM full development cycle, Wynsure production support, and specific expertise in Wynsure Enrollment domain including Wynsure Service Layer Integration (SLI) APIs, Wynsure Event-Driven-Architecture (EDA), Wynsure Data Migration, and Wynsure Batch Optimizations.
- Demonstrating experience in supporting an Enterprise scaled Production environment for Wynsure, including troubleshooting thru logs and crash dumps.
- Utilizing experience with:
- Wynsure technology: GOLD (enhanced variant of C++), eWAM, wMigrate, Wyseman, OQL
- Microsoft.NET Technology Stack including Web Services (WCF, WPF & Web API), SQL Server, ETL, Transact SQL (writing complex stored procedures, triggers, DTS packages), Powershell, IIS.
- API and Integration including WebServices, REST, SOAP, XML, XSLT, JSON.
- Configuration management and DevOps including AzureDevOps, GitHub, Docker, JFrog, Jenkins.
- Cloud Technology Stack including Amazon AWS.
- Enterprise Logging and Monitoring/Telemetry including Splunk, Dynatrace.
- Postion may be eligible to work in a hybrid remote model and is based out of and reports to Aflac offices in Columbus, GA. Must be available to travel to Columbus, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
Salary Range : $127,500 - $147,500.
