Position: Sr. DevOps Engineer
Location: 1932 Wynnton Road, Columbus, Georgia 31999
Duties:
- Responsible for automating software deployment processes by releasing incremental updates and developing automation tools
- Build and implement new development tools and infrastructure
- Understand and Convey the needs of stakeholders to developers
- Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes
- Work with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
- Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support
- Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve customer experience
- Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
- Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues
- Develop scripts to automate visualization
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technology field plus 6 years of progressive experience developing and working with DevOps technology, processes, and strategy performing the following:
- Applying DevOps and Agile princples
- Migrating applications to cloud-based DevOps on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Designing and developing applications using Windows/Linux platforms
- Adhering to design and programming standards to produce high quality software
- Developing software in conjunction with other development team members
- Applying strong understanding of Software development life cycle and DevOps practice
- Scripting with Groovy and Shell
- Creating python virtual environments and hosting IIS based PyPI server
- Utilizing experience with: LDAP; Linux; Ansible; AWS Infra services including but not limited to EC2, EKS, ECS, S3, VPC, Route53 and Infrastructure provisioning and decommission; AWS Compute and Networking services including but not limited to EC2,ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, AWS managed k8S services
- Utilizing experience with Git and GitHub workflows and CI/CD using Jenkins and Gitlab pipelines
- In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technology field plus 4 years of experience developing and working with DevOps technology, processes, and strategy performing the aforementioned.
Position may be eligible to work hybrid/remotely but is based out of and reports to Aflac offices in Columbus, GA. Must be available to travel to Columbus, GA regularly for meetings and reviews with manager and project teams within 24-hours’ notice.
- Salary Range: $127,315 - $169,000 per year.
