What does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Knowledge of all applicable company policies and procedures; knowledge of OSHA and environmental safety laws and regulations that govern the work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in reading furniture plans, and in installing and modifying systems furniture
  • Ability to supervise and train team members on proper furniture installation
  • Knowledge and understanding of human resources laws, regulations, policies, procedures, quality management tools, concepts/methodologies, practices, and techniques
  • Ability to assist management with the department’s budget while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Proficiency in space planning software for interior layouts, documentation, and presentation development.
  • Experience with furniture specification, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong understanding of ADA compliance, sustainability practices, and wellness initiatives in workspace design.
  • Excellent time management, project management, and material management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presenting at townhalls/group presentations.

 

Education & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Four year’s experience, Interior design, architecture, facilities management or related fields
  • One year in a leadership/senior/supervisory capacity in a diverse work environment

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead workspace design and space planning projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and organizational requirements; coordinate with relevant teams to ensure the office design and build out align with the needs of the business unit size and timeline
  • Organizes and oversee office moves, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal disruption to operations; communicates the scheduling of projects to ensure proper coordination and efficiency or personnel and resources
  • Implements and improves space planning techniques through the utilization of various software; develops and documents space planning layouts and furniture specifications to align with ADA accommodations, building capacity data, organizational brand standards, and cohesive workspace aesthetics.
  • Guides sustainability efforts through planning, project design, and the integration of workspace solutions, furniture lifecycle management, equipment inventory management, and the decommissioning of furniture; interface with supplier/manufacturer representatives to ensure highquality furniture and materials are delivered and installed according to specifications
  • Incorporate wellness initiatives into design projects, and collaborate with HR and business units to offer solutions that will benefit the employee’s wellbeing; collaborate with internal departmental contacts to ensure the workspace reflects the needs of the employees and enhances their experience
  • Assist with space layouts and planning for corporate events and building amenities to improve employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Assists with development and implementation of approved plans to support the achievement of department/division goals; leads and/or participates in projects and services necessary to support and improve existing processes and services; maintains adequate control of resources to ensure ongoing operations of the department within established budget, productivity, and efficiency standards; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal customers and service vendors
  • Leads, motivates and coaches the team; provides consistent and constructive feedback to employees; trains, develops, or identifies employees’ training and resource needs; maintains employee personnel records; recommends changes for more efficient operations and to enhance safety initiatives; schedules daily work of personnel to ensure that the team’s operations are successfully completed in a timely and cost-effective manner, and ensures deadlines are met and productivity standards are maintained; recommends promotions, terminations, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $57,000 - $145,000.
