Worker Designation – This role is hybrid. This means you will be expected to report to one of our Aflac offices located in Columbus, GA, for at least 60% of the work week. What does it take to be successful in this role?
- Intermediate knowledge of sourcing principles, indirect procurement, supplier analysis, supplier relationship management principles, third party risk management principles, and primary and secondary research methods
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of project management and change management and ability to adapt the same to new situations
- Skill in and demonstrated experience performing financial/cost analyses, business case development, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and decision modeling
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication and team facilitation skills to effectively interact and negotiate with senior management, internal and external customers, and suppliers
- Aptitude for conceptualizing, communicating and selling new concepts while also being able to take an analytic approach to problem solving and strategic development
- Ability to effectively communicate complex issues and concerns clearly to Aflac leadership and suppliers
- Strong personal computer skills with experience in Windows-based software (SAP and Ariba software, preferred)
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology or Supply Chain Management
- 6+ of professional job-related experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Education & Experience Preferred
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or other sourcing, procurement, and/or supplier management
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitors a portfolio of high impact suppliers with limited supervision; collects and reports supplier risk data from suppliers and internal stakeholders; creates and manages reporting instruments to company governance committees and groups
- Performs supplier due diligence activities in cooperation with other Aflac business partners
- Prepare reports for governance committees and groups detailing supplier risk levels based on existing policies and procedures; prepares and delivers formal presentations to governance committees and groups related to supplier risk
- Manages specific risk processes such as financial health assessments, quarterly monitoring reporting, and other
- Educates internal stakeholders on the importance and practice of supplier risk management policies and procedures
- Develops strong working relationships with business partners and suppliers to identify /mitigate risk and improve supplier performance
- Supports ongoing development, improvement, and implementation of supplier risk related policies, procedures, and programs
- Maintain a current knowledge of best practices and industry trends related to supplier risk management, and uses knowledge to influence current practices
- Act as a liaison between Aflac and suppliers, managing supplier, relationships, expectations, and results
- Manages supplier performance scorecard process and uses results to assist internal stakeholder to improve supplier performance
- Supports internal stakeholders in facilitation of quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with high risk suppliers, to include developing meeting agendas, creation and maintenance of dashboards and KPIs
- Collaborates with business customers and suppliers to resolve contract compliance issues; works proactively with internal stakeholders to monitor supplier performance and customer satisfaction for improvement opportunities
- Monitors news outlets for information impacting high impact Aflac suppliers with limited supervision
- Supports supplier segmentation/stratification processes
- Interact with business customers, suppliers, and subject matter experts using supplier management tools such as Ariba
- Supports strategic sourcing and supplier sustainability initiatives as necessary
- Performs other related duties as required
Total Rewards
The salary range for this job is $75,000 to $105,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting.
At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
