Position: Trade Operation and Technology Analyst

Duties:

  •  Collaborate on the advancement and development of Global Investments Trade Operations identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting platform.
  • Participate in the development of controls and process documentation to enhance the overall control environment within the Trade Operations group.
  • Collaborate and lead technical developments and maintenance of the trade operations system production and data environment, including providing support for the development and automation of workflows specific to internal business partners, third party and custodial accounts.
  • Ensure trade flow to custodians and internal subsystems is accurate and error free including working with third party vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate and elevate the operational requirements to support existing and new investment instruments and account types, and confirm trades with brokers through various investment and third-party systems.
  • Lead the advancement of investment trade operations reports for senior management and business partners including ensuring all systems and applications have strong workflow of data, minimizing errors and time.
  • Convert business and financial logic into source code and manage testing and deployment as refinements and changes are required in the trading system (Aladdin) as well as other supporting systems as required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on technology programming and coding related issues and resolutions including taking a proactive approach to anticipating corrections and minimizing errors.
  • Research and resolve trade discrepancies with counterparties.
  • Reconcile cash, trades, and positions among custodians and the portfolio accounting systems.
  • Produce and present oral and written analyses and concepts, including management recommendations, to senior management.
  • Stay abreast of developing techniques and regulations to ensure management of operational risk is current including updates to the operational procedural documents accordingly.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science or other related field plus 6 years of progressive experience in IT positions performing the following:
    • Demonstrating advanced knowledge of technology platforming, model design and development experience 
    • Working with financial services and/or investment companies to perform requirement analysis and develop optimized processes to reduce potential fraud.
    • Designing, developing, and deploying solutions for business requirements.
    • Deploying technical work into business workflows via analytical and critical thinking resulting in efficiency while minimizing errors.
    • Utilizing experience with:
      • Programming; SQL, COBOL, CICS, JCL, C++.
      • Windows Operating System.
      • Databases: DB2, SQL Server 2014, VSAM.
      • Methodologies: Agile, SDLC
  • In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Information Systems, IT, Computer Science or other related field plus 4 years of experience in IT positions performing the aforementioned.

 

  • Position may be eligible to work in a hybrid remote model and is based out of and reports to Aflac offices in New York, NY. Applicants must be able to work onsite at Aflac offices in New York at least 3 days per week
  • Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000.
